Open data has the power to fuel economic growth, job creation, new business opportunities, greater innovation, and other improvements in our social and economic lives. Riding on the success of the inaugural Open Data Conference organised by the Social Sciences Research Centre of the University of Hong Kong (SSRC HKU) in 2018, the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) joins hands with SSRC HKU, Hong Kong Science and Technology Park (HKSTP) and Cyberport, to co-organise the second Open Data Conference to help transform Hong Kong SMEs and startups to thrive in the digital economy by using open and shared data to make money and enhance productivity.
